Westman Naturalists - Invasive Species and the CCIS Youth Nature Keepers

Friday, Apr 19, 2024 at 7:00PM

Brodie Building Rm 3-47, Brandon University & Online

Some species are bad neighbours for us, other animals, and plants. Join Mike Bagamery as he shares what the Canadian Council on Invasive Species' Youth Nature Keepers have done to address the destructive impacts of certain introduced species.

Mike Bagamery (he/him/his) is an interdisciplinary thinker and activist who has the honour to work as the youth engagement coordinator for the Canadian Council on Invasive Species in Manitoba. He has a BA in political science and a master's degree in natural resource management from the University of Manitoba, which he has used to help write the policy document Manitoba's Road to Resilience from Manitoba's Climate Action Team and as one of the first Parliamentary Interns for the Environment (under GreenPAC in 2022–2023) to specialize in sustainable agriculture.

This is a hybrid event! Mike will be joining us via Zoom, but we'll still be meeting in person!
Feel free to come in person to socialize with your fellow Westman Naturalists and see the talk, or join us via Zoom.
For Zoom, please complete and submit this short form to sign-up. We will email out the Zoom link that evening.
