Westman Gardeners will be holding their monthly meeting on October 5 at 7 pm in the Central Community Centre, 529 Fourth St. Brandon. The topic is 'Cooking with Herbs.' Guest speaker is Larry de Vries. He has been the Chef Instructor at Crocus Plains High School and taught many students in the Culinary Arts Program there. Among other cooking endeavors, Larry has competed in 3 Culinary Olympics in Erfurt, Germany and has prepared meals for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. He has received numerous awards for his cooking skills and written in various food publications. Larry will give a demonstration on how to use different herbs.
