Westman Jams is an unregistered non-profit organization founded in 2003 by Reg Jones who wrote; “This project was created to fulfill a need to meet fellow musicians in Western Manitoba for the sole purpose of having fun with our favourite hobby… to keep our music [old time country, bluegrass, oldies] alive and well and living in the Westman area.” Over the years, the jams have attracted musicians of all ages and levels, who perform songs from all genres (even some original songs too).
Come watch or join in the jam! Grab your guitar, fiddle, mandolin or whichever instrument you play and make music from 2 to 5 pm once a month (except July & Aug). The event is free and open to everyone to play and sing, watch or dance. Accepting donations to raise money for the Reg Jones Memorial Bursary that financially assists Westman students attend International Music Camp at the International Peace Gardens.
The next jam is scheduled for Sunday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. at The Fringe Restaurant & Lounge in Shilo, MB.
