Join trip leaders Colin Blyth and Gillian Richards in a quest to explore lesser-known trails on the east side of Riding Mountain National Park. This area is a transition between boreal and deciduous forest and is home to many interesting plants, insects and birds, hopefully including Indigo Bunting. Numbers are limited on this trip, so please sign up soon by completing the form below.
No experience is needed for this event, just an interest in nature. Be aware that patience may be required as the group will stop frequently! Please bring your binoculars and camera if you have them, they are not essential but come in handy.
This outing will involve walking between 3-5km on trails. These can be rough with tree roots, and may be sandy or muddy. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and bring water and snacks/lunch. Don’t forget insect repellent as both ticks and mosquitoes will no doubt join us.
Participation: Please complete this short form to sign-up for this event. We will email you with specific details a day or so before the event. Car pooling might be available.
