Daly House Museum in partnership with the Brandon Embroiderers present The Art of Embroidery: Past and Present, an exhibit featuring over 100 embroidery pieces dating from the 1800s to the present, on view from March 7 to May 30, 2026.
Historically, embroidery has been associated with women and seen as a domestic craft rather than an art form. The pieces on display in The Art of Embroidery: Past and Present reflect how the craft has evolved from a domestic pastime into a modern prominent medium for fine art. The embroideries exhibited are unique and eye-catching imagery featuring a variety of media, such as metallic threads and hybrid techniques such as needle painting.
The exhibit will open Saturday March 7, 2026 at 2:00 pm with members of the Brandon Embroiderers available to answer questions about the fiber art on display.
